Hi! My name is Jen and I live in Argyle, NY. Becoming a doula has been a dream of mine for many years. My journey with birth work began when I became pregnant with my firstborn son. I felt so clueless. I spent those months learning all I could about pregnancy, birth, and taking care of a newborn. I read many books, talked to friends and family, and researched many topics. But when it came time to birth my baby, I still felt lost. I didn’t know what to expect of the process or of my body. It felt rushed and I lacked the confidence to communicate my needs.

Since then, I’ve given birth to five more children, and I’ve had the opportunity to come alongside other families through their pregnancy. I’ve learned so much through these experiences - from birthing techniques and pain management to c-sections and breech births. I have slowly developed an appreciation for the process and a love of supporting people. I completed the certification process as a birth doula with DONA in early 2024.

It has been a joy to grow in my knowledge of pregnancy and childbirth. While each experience presents immense challenges, each birth is also uniquely beautiful and worthy of every moment of our care and attention.
